General
Erasmus MC offers information and services through various means of communication. If you decide to engage, Erasmus MC will have acces to information about you. Erasmus MC handles your personal information with care. The processing of your data complies with the laws and regulations that apply to the protection of privacy, including the Personal Data Protection Act (Wet Bescherming Persoonsgegevens). The employees of Erasmus MC, who handle your data, are also bound by the professional secrecy described in Article 457 of Book 7 of the Civil Code.
Erasmus MC will not transfer any personal data to third parties, unless there is a legal obligation to do so or you have given your permission. The privacy statement provides information about which data is registered and for what purposes. For the sake of clarity, a distinction is made between personal, visit, screening and coaching data.
Personal data
The program Smarter pregnancy may sometimes request personal information of you. This includes, for example, you name, address, e-mail address and date of birth. They will be used for the following aims:
- to make screening and coaching by Smarter pregnancy technically possible.
- to provide your login details for participation in Smarter Pregnancy.
- to ask you if you are willing to participate in research.
- to invite you via E-mail during the course of the program to fill in a questionnaire to find out how you are doing and to ask your opinion about Smarter Pregnancy.
- to notify you personally after completing questionnaires and give advice where necessary.
- to evaluate Smarter Pregnancy.
- for administrative purposes.
- to conduct research for the benefit of Smarter pregnancy and for offering products and services.
Personal data will be destroyed
- 2 years after you received login details for Smarter Pregnancy
- If you do not log in for 12 months.
Visiting Data
Visiting data is recorded while following the Smarter Pregnancy program. These include, for example, the date of registration for a subscription, the length of time that you are logged in, surfing behavior, IP addresses and URLs and can be used for:
- technical management purposes, such as sufficient server capacity for the number of visitors.
- administrative purposes, such as payment processing.
- for research purposes, this data can be shared with third parties. No research is done on individuals, so name and address information is not used for research.
Screening and coaching data
- With the screening and coaching questions and answers and the text and E-mail messages, Smarter Pregnancy stores nutritional, lifestyle and possible use of medicines data. I understand that this is necessary for the program.
- I am aware that research can be done with the anonymized data.
- I understand that the purpose of any research will be to further improve the program.
- I know that the anonymized data can be used for publishing.
- I give permission to keep my anonymized data for a maximum of 15 years for future research.
User instruction
Smarter Pregnancy contains questionnaires about personal data of women and men. As a user, you are asked to handle these questionnaires and the entered data with care. The standard data may not be distributed, used or copied without the prior written permission of the Erasmus MC. In addition, the user must keep the username and password used for access to www.mijnleefstijlzorg.nl/smarterpregnancy and www.smarterpregnancy.co.uk secret. If the user discovers irregularities in the use or content of www.mijnleefstijlzorg.nl/smarterpregnancy and www.smarterpregnancy.co.uk, the user is kindly requested to report this by email to slimmerzwanger@erasmusmc.nl.
Subscription
We would like to point out that at least the woman must complete the first screening within 2 weeks, otherwise the subscription will expire. In addition, it is important to know that the screening at 6, 12, 18 and 24 weeks, for which you receive a reminder, is preferably completed on the same day, because only then will coaching continue using updated data.

Cookies
Cookies are used on the parts that are only accessible to participants. These are only used to control access and to simplify the use of the environment. You can change the settings on your browser to refuse cookies or to notify you when cookies are created.
